Support Cid's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Hello everyone!

Thank you for reading Cid’s story. We are so grateful for your support of Cid and her family during these challenging times.

Cid has been a bilingual second-grade teacher for the last eight years. She works for New Haven Public Schools at the district's largest and most culturally diverse PreK-8 school. In addition to being a passionate, hardworking, and dedicated educator, Cid is the mother of a young 7-year-old daughter. Cid is a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and colleague.

Unfortunately, in January 2024, Cid received the devastating and life-altering news that she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. At the young age of 34, Cid found herself having to begin the crucial battle to save her life. Following the diagnosis, Cid started receiving chemotherapy. The chemotherapy sessions often left Cid physically exhausted, in extreme pain, emotionally defeated, missing her second-graders, and struggling to fulfill her daily parenting duties. Cid received a total of 8 chemotherapy sessions, and the financial burden of medical bills began.

The following treatment plan for Cid includes but is not limited to a bilateral mastectomy and lymph node removal, radiation, and ongoing physical therapy. As you can imagine, this has been highly challenging for Cid and her family, and the financial burden will only increase as she endures the remaining treatments.

Any help, as small as you may think it is, will be incredibly helpful for Cid and her family as they navigate the challenges of paying off the current and upcoming medical expenses.
