UPDATE (February 2, 2026)
Our beloved Ciaran has left us, and his absence is felt deeply. This Sunday (February 8, 2026) at 1:00 PM, we’ll gather for a small wake in his honour at the Ye Olde Orchard Pub in NDG (5563 Monkland Ave).
A larger celebration of his life will come later, when we can all be together to share stories, music, and love.
If you’d like to join us on Sunday to raise a glass for Ciaran, we would be grateful. And for those who feel called, the GoFundMe remains open to support Marjorie and the kids as they find their footing in this new and heartbreaking reality.
UPDATE (May 28): Ciaran and Marjorie are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support and kindness they've received as Ciaran continues navigating his cancer journey. Unfortunately, as of this weekend, he has still not been able to undergo surgery to remove the tumour on his colon due to ongoing medical complications.
The generosity shown so far has been a lifeline, helping cover essential expenses like taxes, mortgage payments, and groceries. If you're able, any additional support would mean the world to them during this difficult time.
Please share this with others who may want to help.
ORIGINAL POST:
We are reaching out on behalf of our dear friend Ciaran Winter. As Ciaran bravely fights his battle with cancer, we hope to lighten the financial challenges that come with this journey. The funds raised will provide vital support for his beloved Marjorie, so she can continue to care for him at home. It will also serve as a beacon of love and solidarity for his children—Ciara, Kyla, Maeve, and Conor—reassuring them that their father is surrounded by a community that cares deeply for him and for them.
In true Ciaran style, he wishes to give back to those who extend their support. As a token of gratitude, he’s sharing the gift of his music. For a minimal fee, you can purchase and/or download four of his original songs through this Bandcamp link:
Your generosity means the world to Ciaran and his family, and together, we can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
