Hi, I am Charles. My friends call me Chuck, and I live with my dog Loki. I am really embarrassed to be here asking for help, but a friend suggested it and right now I need a lot of help. Well, here is my story.

It was July 5th around 8pm and I decided to take a cruse in the country on my motorcycle because it was such a beautiful night, and I was alone. unfortunately, life can change in an instant. my life went from working 6 and 7 days a week and finally working myself out of debt to having a holiday weekend to being bedridden and off work with no pay probably for the next 4 months at least.

I was riding thru the small town of Potterville, Michigan enjoying the night and tragedy happened. I was on Vermontville hwy. (a road I been down thousands of times in my life) and I hit some gravel in the road. that's when this nightmare began. my front tire caught the loose stone, and my bike slammed down on the road. I laid there for a minute and tried to stand. that when I found out life has changed for me. my knee was gone; I fell right back down and had to be taken in an ambulance to the hospital.

after I finally got home, I was hoping for the best. I couldn't walk, not an easy task for a man that lives alone with his fur baby. I was road rashed and could hardly get around. it hasn't improved much. I've had people helping but i hate being a burden. then the bad news came streaming in. my short-term disability I pay in for at work was denied because it was a motorcycle accident. then I found out my insurance caps out at $5000 witch barely covers the emergency room and MRI. I went to my primary doctor, and they wanted me to go to an orthopedic specialist. I have a friend that is one, so I set up with him and got my MRI. he called me at home and said it was worse than he can do and set me up with one of his collages. I went to see him, and he went over everything with me. my ACL is torn in half, My MCL is badly torn, and my meniscus id heavily damaged. they call it the unhappy triad; they set surgery a couple weeks out. they plan on reconstructing everything with donor parts from a cadaver. with the blue cross blue shield I pay for thru work not wanting to pick this injury up, I need to figure out how to pay for it. I tried to pull my 401k, and they won't let me. I have called lawyers, and they keep saying nothing they can do.

i am sure my bills over the next 4 months off including medical will be over $20000 easy and not being able to work I may lose everything. doc said I won't be 100% for a year and will have to go thru a lot of therapy.

in the last month my small savings is almost gone, and the bills keep coming. hose payments, insurance payments, household bills. I really don't know what I'm going to do. I hate to ask because that's not my way, but anything will help at this point. this is not supposed to be me. I the guy that helps people. I'm the guy that has been working my job for 17 years and was looking forward to retiring in 13 years. at this point I really don't know what else to do.
