Our Story
Hello, dear friends and kind strangers,
My name is Amber (Bash) O’Sullivan and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart. My dad, Charles (Chuck) Bash Jr. has recently been diagnosed with leukemia. This diagnosis has turned our world upside down, but we are determined to fight this battle with everything we have.
About Chuck
Chuck is a loving father to his daughter Amber, devoted husband to his wife Charla (Covey) Bash of 43 years and a wonderful Pappy to his 3 year old grandson. He has always been the rock of our family, a man of strength, kindness, and unwavering support. Whether it was helping his wife or daughter, lending a hand with yard work, or volunteering at community events, Chuck has always been there for everyone. He enjoys spending time outside cutting grass and tending the garden. When you don’t see him outside around the house, he is inside watching sports or anything NASCAR related.
Our Goal
Leukemia treatment is both physically and financially demanding. While we are fortunate to have some medical insurance, it does not cover all the expenses. The costs of chemotherapy, hospital stays, medications, and travel to specialist appointments are adding up quickly. Since getting diagnosed in the beginning on July, Chuck has already had countless blood and platelet infusions, multiple hospital stays, a round of chemo and continued chemo pills at home, plus a TON of other medications and nurses visits. Chemo pills cost upward of $3,000 a month. Also after getting his diagnosis, Chuck was let go from his job of over 30 years. This has really put a financial strain on them.
We aim to raise $25,000 to help cover these costs and ensure that Chuck gets the best possible care. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our fight against this disease.
How You Can Help
1. Donate: Any amount you can contribute will go directly towards Chuck’s medical bills and related expenses.
2. Share: Please share this campaign with your network. The more people who know about our situation, the more support we can garner.
3. Support: Your words of encouragement, prayers, and positive thoughts mean the world to us. Please keep Chuck in your thoughts as he fights this battle.
Updates
We will keep you updated on Chuck’s progress and how your contributions are helping us navigate this challenging journey. Your support is a beacon of hope in these trying times.
Update: 8/1- Chuck was in the hospital 7/30 to get blood and platelets as they were low. Since that infusion he has been sick. He is back in the hospital feeling very sluggish, nauseous, and can’t eat. They are suspecting it could be a blood infection but are not sure at this time. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and kindness.
With gratitude,
Amber and the Bash Family
