Support Chu Ka’s Fight Against Cancer

In May of this year, my brother Chu Ka, was diagnosed with stage IV Rectal Cancer. He recently finished his 7th week of chemotherapy. The next step is to do 4 weeks of both chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

During this difficult time, Chu Ka has been unable to work and his wife, Rose, has been working part-time so she can take care of him. I kindly ask if you can help provide financial support for their medical bills, medications, traveling expenses to their appointments (2 hours away from home) and ongoing treatments. Hello everyone, I want to give you all an update on my brother. It’s been a little over a month since my last update. As you all know, my brother went through radiation and completed it in December 2023. The plan was to recover after a month and then meet with a colon surgeon and specialist. Unfortunately, shortly after his radiation, my brother did not feel well despite his other symptoms he had from radiation, what he felt that day was different and was rushed to the ER. My brother was diagnosed with Sepsis, Pneumonia and also ended up with Low Blood Pressure along with fever. My brother was put on life support in the ICU for over one week. As the days went by, not knowing what to expect, with God’s grace, all the love and support he has from everyone, he fought through it. They kept him in the hospital for another week after that and he was finally cleared to go home. Or so we hoped. He stayed home for one night and ended going back to the ER the very next day. My brother has been in and out of the hospital due to other complications since. Going though his battles day by day not knowing when this nightmare will end. With that said, not knowing what will happen tomorrow, next week or even a month from now, Rose, my sister in law, has taken more days off from work to continue to care for my brother since there’s no family close by. At this point Rose is not sure when she will go back to work or if she will have her job anymore. It has been a hard journey for the both of them, they’re doing their best to hang on and stay strong.

I kindly ask that you continue to share, support my brother and sister in law, Rose, to get to their goal. Even with just a prayer goes a long way. Thank you from the bottom of our heart for your continuous love and support. I will continue to update you as we don’t know what will happen in the upcoming weeks or months. Once my brother and Rose meet his colon specialist and surgeon, I will be able to give an update on what their next step is for my brother. Again, thank you for your continuous love and support.
