Here is a small update on Christy’s behalf. She finally got a shower yesterday and washed the chemicals out of her hair from the crash, I went ahead and gave her a lovely hairstyle so she wont get knots. She also went for a small walk, when she came back she made it known to the doctors she was having knee pain. Low and behold there is another fracture on her leg! We are still waiting on a definite plan from the doctors and have been as patient as possible with the known holiday quickly coming up. Christy would like to personally send her gratitude to each and everyone of you for keeping her in yalls thoughts, prayers, and for all the shares. She also is super grateful for all of the donations already made. I will update you with more on her condition with her approval when there’s more to know.
I’ve known my mother-in-law, Christy, since I was 14 years old, and she has always put her kids’ needs above her own. She is quiet and never asks for much, but right now, she needs our help more than ever. Recently, Christy was in a major car accident that left her with fractures affecting her leg, neck, back, ribs, and sternum. She was thrown into oncoming traffic after hitting a slick spot in the road, but instead of risking another person’s life, she steered herself into the trees. The accident was so severe that the jaws of life had to be used to remove her from the vehicle, and trees had to be cut down around her just to get her out. It’s truly a miracle that she survived, and we are so grateful to still have her with us.
Christy now faces a long and difficult recovery. The funds raised will go toward her ambulance and medical bills, as well as the physical therapy she’ll need in the months ahead. She is unable to work her cleaning business, which is physically demanding, and can only return to her desk job at the local water company once she regains her strength. On top of that, her truck was totaled in the crash, and her other vehicle needs repairs before she can use it. All of these expenses are overwhelming, and our family would appreciate any and all financial help during this time.
It’s hard for Christy to ask for help, so as her daughter-in-law, I’m reaching out on her behalf. She is someone I look up to, and I want nothing more than to see her recover and continue being the caring, selfless person we all know and love. Any support you can offer means the world to us.
