A typical mail day ends in tragedy.

Christy Burt, a local mail carrier, was hit head on by a log truck, while delivering mail on County Road 29, just south of Moundville, Alabama. Her car was launched into an embankment on the side of the road. The impact was so devastating that she was ejected through the windshield, onto the bank. The paramedics rushed her to DCH, where they determined that she had suffered countless broken bones and has a deep laceration covering most of her scalp. She was placed on a ventilator to assist her with breathing, and was airlifted to UAB in order to undergo her surgeries. At this time, it is uncertain as to how long she will remain in the hospital. It is expected that the road to recovery will be long and challenging. However, The Good Lord has done an absolute miracle in Christy's life and will continue to heal and protect her day by day.
