Support Christy's Cancer Journey

If you're reading this, chances are you know Christy — and if you do, then you already know she’s an incredible person and a true light in this world.

Christy is someone who rarely shares her struggles and doesn't like to ask for help. Right now, she’s facing a long and difficult journey as she fights for her life. I know she could use our support!

Many of you have reached out, looking for ways to support her. I created this page as a space where those who feel led can offer financial support to help ease the burden and allow Christy to focus on her fight without added stress.

With her permission I am sharing her story below:

In September 2023, Christy had surgery to remove squamous cell carcinoma from her tongue. Seven months later the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in her neck, marking the start of an intense journey. She underwent surgery, chemo, and radiation, facing severe side effects like mouth sores, loss of saliva, burns, and extreme nausea that led to hospital stays. A feeding tube was also placed to help with nutrition. She was unable to eat, drink, or take medication by mouth; everything had to be delivered through a tube.

In October of 2024, a PET scan showed the cancer in her head and neck was gone — a huge relief. However, it also revealed a mass on her adrenal gland making it Stage 4. A biopsy confirmed it, and she began more chemo in 2025. Though less intense at first, it caused mouth sores again, forcing a break in treatment. Her doctor planned to reintroduce drugs one at a time to identify the cause. You can imagine the mental and physical toll this has on her.

Christy has been a part of a Circulating DNA study from the start. Her newest blood results showed a drop in cancer markers, but a CT scan showed the adrenal mass had grown. She received targeted radiation in February of 2025 followed by a PET scan that revealed new lesions on her spine and liver. This led to a stronger chemo plan.

This new treatment started in March of 2025 and is more aggressive and has caused hair loss, nausea, and neuropathy. She’ll complete six rounds (2 of 6 are done) with another scan later to assess progress. If needed, radiation may target remaining spots. Her doctor remains hopeful but is monitoring side effects closely. She’s been working during this time, but I know it’s not easy to go to work when you’re not feeling well after treatment.

Next week Christy will visit the Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis for a second opinion.

I know she is deeply grateful for the overwhelming love and support from family, friends, and her community. Her faith in God continues to be her source of strength.

Please don’t feel obligated to give, but any contribution would help lighten her burden as she moves forward. No amount is too small. You're also welcome to share words of encouragement and prayers on this page.

Continue to pray for complete healing for Christy!
