Please support my Heart and liver Transplant Journey

Hi, I'm Christopher. I was born with a congenital heart defect called Tricuspid Atresia., Hypoplastic right heart syndrome
and along with other diagnoses. I had some heart surgeries as a young child. Two shunts and a fontaine procedure. I did pretty okay health-wise for 42 years, with some bumps along the way. I had a pulmonary embolism at 19 year'sold. Have been through 3 pacemakers so far and developed arythmias.. Had a revised fontaine open heart surgery when I was 21.. I went on to get my CDLs and father 4 beautiful children with my wife despite being told things for me weren't attainable.. ive always had personality of whatever goal i reached for, I didn't let others words define the outcome.

I recently learned this past August that it had come time for me to have a heart transplant as my liver is starting to have issues from my heart. I did the heart evaluation in Charlotte where I've gone all my life. After my evaluation, I got disheartening news. Unfortunately, my doctors didn't feel comfortable proceeding given the complexity of my transplant in their hospital. I'm grateful for all they've done over the years and prefer them to be honest with me. They've referred me to Vanderbilt where I have a much better chance as they've done other transplants with people similar to my condition. So, I have to leave my home shortly to go and stay for a long period of time to do the transplant.

Unfortunately, my employer of 8 years terminated me this week for non-availability due to missing work for such a long time for my surgery to come. It was very disheartening to lose my career since it was such a huge hurdle to obtain my CDLs to begin with given my past health history. However things happen and you have to understand things happen for different reasons we don't always comprehend.

I'm trying to raise enough money so I can bring my wife and children with me to Nashville to be closer to me when they aren't in school. My goal is to raise enough funds to purchase a camper to live in for at least a year plus vehicle to pull it, and funds to bring my family back in fourth periodically throughout the whole process.. on top of all medical expenses I'm looking at with my transplant..

This journey will absolutely be hard on my wife to essentially do everything on her own with our four children. Also given one of our children is autistic and is beginning their aba therapy soon.. while that alone makes it that more challenging given everything my family is enduring, asfar as traveling to and from. I and my children are grateful we have her to help carry us through.

My hope is to return to driving long after my surgery and healing process is over. As i loved where I worked and my fellow employees are a tight nit family... as most truckers are..

My main goal is just to simply be able to have my wife and children near me when they aren't in school as I would never want to uproot my children out of their school or home. I love my wife and children immensely and want to make this as easy as possible on them. If you feel in your heart to give, I can't begin to thank you strongly enough for your generosity. If not able to give and want sinply to just send encouragement, I am just as equally grateful you took the time to do so. Thank you.

Update: my family and I are so thankful for all the support thus far more than words can express...
I will continue to believe great things will continue happening for my family and I throughout this process...

After a very long process. Im so thankful to announce vanderbilt has approved me to do my heart and liver transplant. I am being put on the list this week. Facing the reality of leaving my family behind for a extended time is really heartbreaking. However I know it's to give me more time with them. Thanks for everyone's support wether financial or emotionally...
