Latest Update as of July 2026. Hey guys, Wanted to update you on what's going on. We have the outside of our home updated with 2 ramps, thanks to the help of some special people .
We are trying to work on inside to make it more handicapped accessible. But the roadblock is the never-ending medical bills. When we think we are getting leveled out, here comes more and more.
2 steps forward, 10 steps back!
We, with the help of so many of you have made tremendous strides, and we can't ever thank you enough!!
But when it gets to the point of paying these bills or buying our medicine, what do you do?
So, here we are again, asking for any help possible. Not because we want to. Believe me, this is very hard for us to ask. I tried going back to work, and just physically couldn't. I am doing better with walking, but the pressure from the bones that were cut is still extremely painful. They have molded me for a new leg and we have hopes that will be better.
Thank you for everything.
Hi everybody. I tried to return to work and it didn't work out so great. I ended up having to resign and accept my disability. After almost 30 years as a nurse, it is a heartbreaking decision to make. We sure weren't ready for that life change. Medical bills have hit hard and disability won't offer insurance for at least two years. Everyone was so kind when we asked for help the first time, we hate asking again. It's not the future we planned, but it's what we have to work with. We have our two sons to help us and we can't forget Little man Matty, the light and love of our lives. We have much to be grateful for and we love you all.
Hello everyone. I'm Christopher. I'm a nurse at our local hospital.I've been fighting diabetes for decades now, and I've recently had to lose my left leg below the knee. I've kept working up until the day this happened.
I've been trying to treat Diabetic Charcot foot since last year, but it didn't work out. I became septic and had to have the amputation.
My wife and I will now have to have our home refitted with handicap accessibility. We also need an extensive ramp leading up to our house. We're not sure how to go about everything, or pay for it. So, we're reaching out for help.
Thank you for hearing our story. I hope everyone who is looking for help finds it.
