Support Christopher's Dream to Study in London

Hello friends and family,

My name is Christopher Matamoros, I am a junior at SUNY Cortland. I have been presented with an amazing opportunity to study abroad at London Metropolitan University in Spring 2025, and I need your support to make it a reality. Studying abroad in London has been a dream of mine for years, and I know that this experience will not only enhance my education, but broaden my horizons and cultural understanding, and open up new opportunities as I imagine where I fit in the world. I am so excited to have already drafted a course schedule at London Met where I will take upper-level social science courses and humanities coursework that will allow me to experience the local London culture in new and meaningful ways.

As a student, the costs associated with studying abroad are a heavy-lift. I will need to cover tuition, housing, transportation, food, and other living expenses while in London. My anticipated out-of-pocket expenses for spring 2025 in London (accounting for my existing financial aid, and a scholarship I already won! ) is about $9,500 USD. Unfortunately, I do not have the financial means to cover all of these costs on my own without accruing substantial student-debt or becoming a financial burden to my already incredibly supportive family.

This is where you come in. I am asking for your support in helping me achieve this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am hoping to fundraise about $4,000 USD towards my out-of-pocket expenses. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in helping me reach my goal.

I promise to make the most of this experience and to represent my community and country with pride while studying in London.
