My name is Christopher Yura, and I am a senior at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I am raising money to shoot my Senior Capstone Film, The Face of Evil. I have a passion for horror, particularly the slasher subgenre. Films like Halloween and Scream are among my favorites and have significantly impacted me and many other filmmakers. The Face of Evil pays homage to many great slashers, combining elements from some of the greatest literary masters of horror, such as Stephen King and R.L. Stein. The film is about a kid who is bullied and his dark descent into madness. Bullying is a disease that many people have to deal with daily, and it poses the question, “Is violence against violence justified?”

STORY

The Face of Evil follows Arnie, a meekly teen who lives in Midwest America. He is constantly harassed by local troublemakers Andrew and Ryder, who seem to have nothing better to do than to torment Arnie. After a particularly ruthless beating on October 31st, Arnie comes across a mysterious mask tucked away in a dime store. His life would forever change that night as he discovers that the mask changes him into a wicked creature of the night. Arnie is out for blood, and nothing will stand in his way of vengeance.
