My name is Joanne, the mother of Christopher Neal. I am raising money to help Chris with his medical bills. Chris has been living with and fighting malignant tumors called Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumors since 2009. He has been treated on and off with chemotherapy for almost two decades. The therapy has kept the tumors stable. Unfortunately, the chemo has damaged and killed Chris's bones and joints in his legs. He will undergo surgery to replace his right hip and remove a tumor that is wrapped around his iliac artery, which supplies blood to his leg. He has finally found a surgeon who will attempt to remove the tumor. When so many other surgeons turned Chris down and said it was too risky of a surgery. After he recovers, he will then have to have his left hip and both knees replaced. He has a long road ahead. Also, Chris can no longer walk without some kind of device, most of the time in a wheelchair. Chris does have Medicare as insurance, but it only covers around 70% of the medical bills, leaving him and his family to cover the rest, which will be over $30,000 at least.
