Earlier today in Helena, Montana, Christopher Martinez was stolen from his family.

Christopher is a devoted dad and sole provider to four beautiful children, ranging in age from just 1 to 11 years old. He was driving home on his lunch break to see his children and his wife, Maria, when he was stopped by police, who said he matched the description of a man they were looking for. Once they realized he was not the person in question, they could have let him go—but instead, Helena PD allowed ICE to run his information. He was detained on the spot.

Christopher had done everything right. He worked hard, supported his family, and tried to follow every legal step to stay with them. But when the Trump administration took office, the system turned against families like his. Legal pathways were closed. Hope was replaced with fear. And now Maria is left trying to hold everything together on her own.

With no income coming in, the cost of legal paperwork, travel to detention centers, and the basic cost of survival will quickly become more than this family can bear alone.
