Support Christopher Blue's Heart Transplant Journey

Hello, my name is Andrea Grant-Blue and my 32-yr old son Christopher Blue is currently admitted to BIDM Hospital awaiting a heart transplant.

Two and half years ago my son was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, a week after his 30th birthday and his beloved grandmother's passing. Christopher story starts with him coming into this world early, premature at 6 weeks early and 4.5lbs, he had to spend his first week of life in the NICU. Having to go home without my first born in my arms, at that time I thought was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through, but today thinking that there could be a chance that he could be taken from me forever has made me realize that sometimes what you think is the worst thing that could ever happen is sometimes a blessing in disguise.

I've had 32 blessed years of him as my son and know with all my Faith in God that I will have many more. For anyone who has met my son Chris they can attest to the gentle giant he is. A young man who's only addiction is video games, showing up for not only his friends and family but for a stranger in need. Christopher is a very passionate person which comes through in everything he does. I could never in a million years be prouder of the type of person he has grown up to be. He doesn't have a big fancy job, but works hard every day, even after being diagnosed with CHF, 2 strokes and a month long stay in hospital with RSV. He worked his 40 hour/wk manual job that kept him on his feet for 10 hours a day weathering the element of Boston up until the day he was admitted to the hospital.

Today I am asking, begging that you open your hearts and help Christopher and our family with whatever you can to help us through this difficult time. His current apartment is not suitable for his recovery and needs to find a new apartment. I am utilizing all resources available to help Christopher and our family to make sure that he has what he needs to come home to a safe environment for him to recover and start a new life.
