On January 14th, my mom, Christine — a strong, hardworking woman of 54 — had her life turned upside down in an instant. Through no fault of her own, she was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash caused by a drunk driver involving a tractor-trailer and several other cars.
The injuries she sustained were severe. She suffered a cracked skull, a head laceration, a neck compression fracture, and a concussion. She is currently focused entirely on healing — which is the only job her doctor will allow her to have right now, and the only one that matters.
But while her body works hard to recover, the financial weight of this tragedy has become overwhelming. Christine has exhausted all of her financial resources, and without the ability to work during her recovery, the most basic day-to-day needs — groceries, bills, rent — have become a source of real anxiety at a time when she deserves nothing but peace and rest.
She didn’t ask for this. No one does. But here we are, and we are asking on her behalf.
Any contribution, no matter how small, means she can focus on getting better instead of worrying about how to survive the week. If you can’t give, sharing this page costs nothing and means everything.
We are so grateful for every single person who shows up for her right now.
With love and gratitude,
Katy
