Hi, my name is Christina. I’m a single mom to two amazing kids, and I’m self-employed, which means if I don’t work, I don’t get paid.
For the past few years, I’ve been struggling with endometriosis, fibroids, and heavy bleeding that’s gotten so severe it’s left me anemic. My iron levels have dropped so low that I need iron infusions every couple of months just to keep going. After trying every other option, my doctors and I have decided the best path forward is a hysterectomy.
This surgery is absolutely necessary for my health, but it also comes with a big challenge: recovery time. I’ll need several weeks off to heal, but as a self-employed single mom, that means weeks with no income. I can’t risk rushing back to work too soon, both for my health and for my kids who need me healthy and present.
Thankfully, my family is helping with childcare and support during recovery, but the financial gap is something I can’t bridge on my own. That’s why I’m here, humbly asking for help.
Why I’m Fundraising
Your donations will go directly toward:
Covering lost income while I recover (so I don’t have to choose between healing and paying bills)
Support costs like childcare and meals during recovery
Giving me the peace of mind to heal properly without jeopardizing my stability or my kids’ security
My Goal
My goal is $9,000, which will allow me to take 4–6 weeks off to recover without the crushing stress of wondering how I’ll keep us afloat.
From My Heart
This is not easy to ask. I’m used to being the one who figures it all out and pushes through, but this time I truly can’t do it alone. If you’re able to give—whether it’s $5, $50, or simply sharing this link—it means more than I can ever put into words. Every little bit brings me closer to a safe and healthy recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you for helping me show my kids that community matters and that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
