Facing Radiation & Oncology Treatments – Still in the Fight
Hi everyone,
I want to thank each of you who has donated, shared, or reached out with love and support. It means the world to me and my family. As many of you know, I had surgery on May 2 to remove a recurrent pleomorphic adenoma. Unfortunately, recovery has been harder than expected, and the journey isn’t over yet.
I’ve just been scheduled for 6.5 weeks of radiation therapy — Monday through Friday — under oncology care to make sure we stop this tumor from coming back again. It’s overwhelming, both physically and emotionally, but I’m doing everything I can to stay strong and positive for my family. Because I’m still out of work and don’t have paid time off, this next phase is going to be financially tough. I’m trying to keep up with rent, daycare, and medical bills that are already around $5,000 even after insurance. My goal is to raise $15,000 to help cover these basic living expenses and the extra costs that come with daily radiation treatment and follow-ups.
If you’re able to donate or share, it truly helps more than you know. Every little bit counts — not just financially, but as a reminder that we’re not going through this alone. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing by me through this battle.
With love and gratitude,
Christina
Hi, my name is Christina, and I’m humbly asking for your help during one of the hardest moments of my life.
On Friday, May 2, I underwent a six-hour surgery to remove a recurrent pleomorphic adenoma—a tumor I first battled back in 2006. This time, the procedure was extensive. The surgeons had to cut from the top of my ear down to the bottom of my throat, create a flap, and do a fat graft using tissue from my belly. I’m currently on Day 5 of recovery and still have a drainage tube, which will hopefully be removed this coming Friday. I’m waiting to find out if radiation therapy will be needed next.
I work full-time, but this unexpected recovery time has left me without paid time off (PTO), and I’m now facing a financial crisis on top of my health challenges.
Your support would go directly toward:
• Covering my rent for June and July
• Daycare expenses for my youngest
• Paying off medical bills (roughly $5,000 even with insurance)
This isn’t easy to ask. I’m used to being the one who holds it all together. But right now, I need a little help holding myself up so I can get back to caring for my family and healing fully.
Thank you for reading, sharing, donating, or simply sending love. Every bit of support means the world to me.
With love and gratitude,
Christina
