Hi, my name is Christina. I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but the last two weeks have completely turned my life upside down.

Out of nowhere, I began experiencing frightening neurological symptoms — tremors, weakness, slurred speech, and episodes where my face, arm and leg stop working. I’ve been to the ER multiple times, had CT scans, labs, and MRI’s that showed a lesion on my brain. While that finding might explain some of my symptoms, doctors still don’t know exactly what’s causing all of this.

Because my symptoms keep coming and going and my daily life has become so difficult, I would like to get to a bigger, more specialized hospital that can run the right tests and hopefully find answers. But between travel, appointments, and the bills piling up, we just don’t have the means to make it happen.

I haven’t been able to work since this started, and my husband hasn’t been able to work much either because he’s been helping care for me and our kids. Even with insurance, the costs are overwhelming — every day we’re doing our best just to hold things together.

We’re doing everything we can to stay hopeful, but right now, we really need help.
