On 08/12/25, my mother was admitted to the hospital with severe multiple strokes. The decision was ultimately made to put her on hospice care. Hospice isn’t a death sentence, but they do not cover things that are extremely essential for stroke patients, like physical therapy. Physical therapy is Extremely important in for the first 90 days and she will need PT 5 days a week which is going to be very expensive.

Because I will be taking care of my mother full-time, I will also have to put my daughter in daycare 5 days a week so my mother can be my primary focus. I also want to hire a caregiver to give me a break a few hours a day.
