Support Christina's Battle Against Breast Cancer(TNBC)
Christina was born on August 10, 1968. Raised in Albany, N.Y., she attended Albany schools along with her siblings Michele (1967-2024), Teresa, Donna, and Billy, who also passed at 18 in 1991 from muscular dystrophy. She didn't have an easy upbringing by any means, growing up in an abusive home, mentally and physically, at the hands of her late father. Luckily, later on in 1986, everything she ever wanted, the ultimate love she was looking for, she got. She had a beautiful baby boy named Christopher, weighing in at 9 lbs.
Unfortunately, Christopher was also diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in the form of Duchenne's. Her brother Billy had also suffered and passed from the same disease, as well as Christina's nephews Joey and Donny. The boys were the best of friends. So when Donny passed at 18, it destroyed the family, but it most definitely hurt Christopher and Joey. And then, 4 months later, Christopher passed at 19. He asked his mom for a drink. Christopher waited for Christina to leave the room. She then returned to find him unresponsive. You can all imagine the horror and pain of losing your only child. It absolutely tore her world apart. She was with Christopher's father; however, he was extremely toxic. She always felt alone having to deal with the day-to-day life struggles on top of Christopher's. She tried to make it work for the sake of Christopher.
But after his passing, she just had to leave. She was later diagnosed with Celiac disease and a dairy intolerance. It's been a struggle, in and out with multiple hospital stays, having a total hysterectomy, heart issues including a heart attack once before, all within the last few years. And then just losing her eldest sister Michele at the age of 57 in October of 2024, another loss that devastated the family once again. Michele had complications during a biopsy (the surgeon cut into her lung, and she ultimately bled out). They were looking to see if she too had breast cancer after finding 2 masses in the emergency room 2 days prior. Michele succumbed to her injuries 2 days later, surrounded by her loved ones.
Christina was very recently diagnosed with stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She just completed her 2nd week of treatment out of a 6-month total treatment plan. It hasn't been easy. She has been officially out of work for almost a month. It's been a bit of a stressful and difficult time, to say the least. She now has no income. We have tried applying for everything, praying for a miracle in more ways than one! We are asking for any support you're able to give, whether you can donate or even a simple share is very much appreciated. Don't think that share won't help. It will. Plans for any donations collected will first be used to pay for her housing, medical bills, transportation to and from chemotherapy and other medical appointments. Perhaps she will be able to purchase a beautiful new wig as well. She is very worried about the loss of her hair as it has already started falling out quite a bit.
Christina and her family want to thank any and all potential donators and those that share. Every little bit helps. It means more than words can be put together. We will be posting weekly updates for anyone that would like to follow along. Again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any and all forms of support on behalf of Christina & the rest of the family.
