Hey everyone, my name is Christina. In February of this year, my husband Nelson and I found out we were pregnant! He was due October 21st, 2025. Super exciting news!! We were having a boy! Our daughter was over the moon about having a baby brother. This pregnancy was a rough one on me. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, a lesion in my placenta, and then severe preeclampsia. But our son was thriving and in great health according to all the tests and ultrasounds.
On the night of 9/14, I developed a really bad headache and my blood pressure shot up really high, so we decided to go to the hospital and get checked out. After running blood and urine tests, the doctor ultimately decided to do my c-section on 9/15/25. Our lil guy was born at 6 pounds 6 oz at 34 weeks and 6 days. Unfortunately, he had a bunch of complications that we were not prepared for. He was having a hard time breathing, got put on CPAP, and ended up intubated with a diagnosis of systemic pulmonary hypertension—big words for a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of the heart. He was helicopter flighted to a hospital almost 2 hours from where we live. Unfortunately, with me not working, this has put a huge strain on financials and bills don’t stop. I’m trying to raise some money to be able to go back and forth between home and the hospital and whatever that entails. Truly any bit helps. Thank you so much in advance!
