On Wednesday, March 18, my world changed forever. My LO took our three children—our 6-year-old son, our 4-year-old daughter, and our 4-year-old son—fishing at Hog Bayou. It was supposed to be a special day, but tragedy struck that night. Our 4-year-old boy entered the water, and my LO, being the loving father he was, immediately went in after him. Neither of them resurfaced.

That night, I grew increasingly worried and contacted the authorities. My dad and I searched for them all night, desperate for answers. Early the next morning, maintenance crews found our 4-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son alone at the boat ramp, cold and scared after spending the night calling out for their daddy. The Texas Game Wardens, Department of Public Safety, and many others searched tirelessly. By the afternoon, both my LO and our little boy were found and recovered.

Now, I am left to care for our three surviving children, trying to make sense of this unimaginable loss. We have always struggled in silence, never asking for help, but now I need support more than ever.
