My name is Christie and I am an animal lover.
My coworker picked up a frenchie in the middle of the highway last week. Since I have 2 frenchies, he didn’t know what to do, so he brought her to me.
I brought her to vet for full exam. She was covered in fleas. Her ears are HORRIBLE. Scarred, inflamed, infected. She also appears to be deaf. We are not sure if her hearing will come back after her ears are healed or not. Have her on some antibiotic ointment and steroid. Vet expects she is 5-6 years old. My vet does not think she is spayed, however she does have what appears to be a C-section scar. All of that said…..my biggest concern, is she has BOAS incredibly bad. This poor dog is struggling to breathe. When eating, she has to decide if she is going to take a bite or breath. One of my frenchies had this as well and we decided to have the surgery 2 years ago. It has helped tremendously. I would prefer to find her a home. However, I don’t trust anyone else to properly care for her. Will absolutely have her spayed as well. Estimate from vet is $1500-$2000n BOAS and spay. Yes, I have checked all of our local lost pet pages, and no one is looking for this dog nor is the dog microchipped. I suspect she was used for breeding and then dumped. I plan to get her all all healed up and healthy and find a permanent home for her or keep her myself. Any help for her medical costs is appreciated.
