Hello, my name is Charlotte Sterling and my sister is Christie Perez.

In September 2024, Christie went for a routine mammogram and unfortunately found out she has breast cancer. The hardest words you ever want to hear. Her cancer seems to be slow-growing and caught early. However, she will still have many treatments and surgery ahead of her in order to BEAT this cancer.

Christie is married to Efren Perez and together they have 4 kids and 2 grandkids. Austin and Alexandria are their 2 older kids who are already out on their own. They still have 2 kids at home (Joseph-16 & Olivia-10). Christie works part-time at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton and is involved in Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She also teaches part-time at Brazosport College. They do have insurance (thankfully!) through Efren’s employer, McCoys. However, there will still be many expenses in the coming days. She has already had to miss several days of work for appointments and biopsies. As of now, her surgery is scheduled for Jan. 27, but they are hoping for a sooner date. It is uncertain what the extent of treatment will be until after surgery.
