Christie is a devoted single mother to Grace, a rising senior at UNC-Chapel Hill. Recently, Christie received the difficult news that she has Renal Cell Carcinoma, and the cancer has spread to her lungs. This diagnosis has brought unexpected challenges and uncertainty to their lives. Christie has always worked hard to provide for Grace and was looking forward to seeing her daughter finish college and start her own journey. Now, with her health at risk, Christie may need to use her retirement savings for long-term care, and there is concern about how to support both her ongoing needs and Grace’s future.

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward Christie's medical needs, including treatments, medications, and caregiver support. They will also help cover essential living expenses and provide Grace with the support she needs to continue her education and manage her living costs while in college. At first, this diagnosis was something we knew she would beat and be able to ring the cancer free bell, and there's still opportunity for this to happen, because we know God is in control!
