Support Christian's Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

As you know, my lovely brother Christian, is suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer. He has been undergoing chemotherapy, but has been hospitalized many times over the last year because his body has not tolerated the toxicity of chemotherapy. He is currently being treated for complications including infections, pulmonary thrombosis, and fluid in the lungs and heart, which require surgery.

During this time Christian has needed blood and platelet donors constantly, due to medications and procedures that are required, but are not covered by insurance.

Conventional treatments have not given the expected results. There is now an alternative that could help him, but it is very expensive and not covered by insurance. It is a personalized immunotherapy that could help him raise his defenses and better absorb chemotherapy. We are currently fundraising so that he can access to this option as soon as possible. The total amount required for one year of treatment is high ($50,000), so any contribution, no matter the amount, will be of great help.

I am very sorry to have to resort to this, but I cannot find another solution to have my brother Christian with us for a while longer. He really wants to live but his body is not helping. This is a very difficult situation for our family (I am the only supporter for him) and we are doing anything and everything we can to save our brother.

We all would like to see him like that again.

Me apena muchísimo tener que recurrir a este medio. Pero no encuentro otra solución para tener a mi hermano Christian un tiempo más con nosotros. El tiene muchas ganas de vivir pero su cuerpo no está ayudando. La situación por la que estamos pasando es muy dura.

Como sabes, si has visto mi Facebook, durante todo este tiempo Christian ha necesitado donantes de sangre y plaquetas constantemente, debido al avanzado cáncer de páncreas que padece, además de medicamentos y procedimientos que no están cubiertos por el seguro. Ha tenido varias recaídas durante el último año que han requerido internamientos porque su cuerpo no ha tolerado la toxicidad de las quimioterapias.

Hoy (March, 04rd) lleva 20 dias internado en una clinica en Lima (Sanna, ex Clinica San Borja), Peru debido a complicaciones que van desde infecciones, trombosis pulmonar hasta liquido en los pulmones y el corazón, para lo que requiere una cirugía.

Los tratamientos convencionales no han dado los resultados esperados, y ahora hay una alternativa que podría ayudarle, pero supone un costo elevado. En este momento, estamos reuniendo fondos para que pueda acceder a esta opción lo antes posible. Se trata de inmunoterapia personalizada que podría ayudarlo a levantar sus defensas y absorver mejor las quimioterapias. El monto total requerido es alto ($50.000), así que cualquier aporte, por pequeño que sea, será de gran ayuda.
