Support Christian Perez's Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Christian Perez. On November 13th, I was admitted to Marietta Hospital in Ohio due to a sharp pain in my abdomen, which happened to me while I was driving over the road. I am a commercial truck driver, and I haul industrial equipment. On November 12th, I developed a sharp pain in my abdomen. I thought it was a stomach ache and waited until November 13th before I called 911. I developed a cyst in my stomach and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. When I got to the ER, the doctor said I needed to have emergency surgery. I had to leave my truck on the side of the road. I lost the load I was carrying and a lot more. I was hours away from dying due to the fact that I waited over a day to see a doctor. I was in a life-or-death situation where the pus in my abdomen was all over my organs—my stomach, kidneys, appendix, etc. Due to the nature of the surgery, I am in recovery until December 26th, unable to work.

I have a beautiful 7-year-old daughter whom I take care of. I also have no siblings. My mom lost her mind a few years ago, and she is my only family. I'm a single child and I am currently in a bind. All my savings went to travel expenses coming from Ohio to Florida. My house burnt down in August, and I've had to rent hotels. As a flatbed commercial truck driver, I cannot go back to work after surgery until I'm medically cleared for duty, which is December 26th.

A buddy of mine from the Navy, Mike Nunez, suggested I open up a GoFundMe account for help. I am in a financial hardship where I have no more money left for hotels, food, or anything, and I am in a really tough spot. I am a prior US Navy sailor, and I've never asked for help. I served in the USS John F. Kennedy CV67 Battle Group as an Aviation Boatswain Mate ABH. I am currently waiting for some financial assistance from the city as well, but that itself is taking a very long time. Luckily, I am not homeless yet but will be soon if I don't get some help to be able to rent a place.

All in all, as I've mentioned, I've never asked for help, and an old buddy of mine, Mike Nunez from the Navy, suggested I open this GoFundMe for assistance.
