My name is Christian, and my husband’s name is Dylan. We live in Williamsburg, VA, and for the past several years we have been dreaming and praying about starting a family. That dream took a different path when I was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer at age 27. Six months after our wedding, our lives were turned upside down.

By God’s grace, my doctors were able to retrieve and preserve 35 healthy eggs before I began chemotherapy. This was a miracle we clung to—hope that one day we could still become parents. While I am now almost four years out from my diagnosis and healthy, my doctors have strongly advised that carrying a pregnancy myself would put me at unnecessary risk of recurrence. As much as I longed to carry our child, surrogacy is the safest and wisest path forward.

After much prayer and waiting, we have been blessed to find an incredible surrogate in Tennessee. She and her husband are Christians, leaders in their church, and parents to three children of their own. She has felt called by God for years to help a couple grow their family in this way, and when she read our story, she reached out to us. From faith to family values to even small details about our lives, we’ve discovered so many similarities—it feels like God’s hand has been guiding us toward one another.

Once we were connected with our match, both Dylan and I were overcome with emotion. We sat there in complete shock, tears streaming down our faces, realizing that after years of praying, waiting, and wondering, God was answering our prayer in such a personal way. It was one of those moments we will never forget.

We are financially stable and able to provide for a child once they arrive. However, the reality is that the surrogacy process is extremely costly—often well over $100,000. Because we are pursuing an independent surrogacy journey with the help of a lawyer (who has also walked this same path), our costs will be closer to $50,000. This is still a large and unexpected amount that we cannot cover alone.

When I was sick, we never asked for help—not from family, not from friends, not from our community. But today, as we take this step of faith, we are humbly asking for support. Every donation, no matter the size, will directly help us cover the medical, legal, and surrogate-related costs of bringing our long-prayed-for child into the world.

We believe there’s a reason God allowed 35 eggs to be retrieved and preserved for us. We have been praying over this for more than a year, and one by one, doors are opening that we could never have orchestrated ourselves.
