Hello, my name is Christina (Chrissy). I am a loving wife and mother of three amazing children with a career in clinical research as a Sr. Manager for Study Startup. I was hit with devastating news in November 24’ over Thanksgiving break, when I was diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma: Anaplastic large cell T-cell lymphoma (ALCL, Alk-negative), that spread to my neck, chest and pelvic area. I have since completed 5 of 6 sessions of chemotherapy. As anxious and excited as I am to complete Chemo and live my life cancer free, my cancer is rare/unusual and will require a Stem Cell Transplant as part of my Treatment Plan in hopes of keeping the cancer from returning.
The discovery of this illness occurred at the start of my new position at a new company, so I did not qualify for FMLA. While I was grateful to work intermittently (on intermittent leave) to pay for my chemotherapy treatments my job has ended and the financial burden of medical bills accumulated combined with regular household expenses has become overwhelming. I have always taken pride in managing my responsibilities, and I am definitely NOT one to ask for help but this journey has been one of the most challenging chapters of my life.
Your support will help me cover:
• Medical bills and treatments not covered; also upcoming expenses for travel, lodging, treatment and stay (4 weeks in-patient hospital) in PA for stem cell transplant
• Household expenses to ensure stability for my children during this difficult time.
• Recovery costs as I work toward regaining my health after the stem cell transplant and returning to work full time once I find new employment.
Any contribution, no matter the size, would greatly mean the world to me and my family. Your generosity will provide relief during this challenging time, allowing me to focus on healing and fighting to be here for my family.
I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Every call, every text, every visit, every prayer has given me the strength to fight and keep pressing forward. Thank you for all of your love and support.
