Hi, my name is Michelle. A dear friend and colleague of mine, and her sweet children are in need of the our support. Chrissy, is one of the strongest and hardest working women that I have ever known. She is a single mother of three, who has not only survived skull base bone cancer herself, but has continued to work insanely hard everyday, despite her own health battles, to solely provide for her children. She would never ask for help from others, but with all that she is currently facing, I know how much she needs/will need some financial relief, to allow her to care for her little girl, as she fights for her life.
Madison, who just turned 13, has faced unimaginable hardships. Madison was hit by a car September 18, 2024. At that time she had suffered from a broken left femur needing rod replacement. Contusion to her left tibia, as well as a break in her right tibia needing surgical intervention and suffered from a TBI. She has endured surgery and endless PT to rehabilitate from her accident. Enduring increasing pain along the way.
In January 2025, Madison began to experience, what she shared as the worst migraine of her life, with stroke like symptoms. After observation, & CT scan, she was released from the hospital due to exhaustion and migraine from effects of the TBI.
Fast-forward to March 2025 migraines had continued, and a boggy growth had begun on the top of her skull. CT scan was repeated with nothing appearing on report. An MRI was done nothing was showing report with symptoms worsening.
Madison was then removed from school due to continuous pain and lack of concentration as shared from administrators.
In April 2025, Her mother requested copies of her imaging and ended up finding a large growth on her skull, clear as day, in the images. She began to immediately advocate for her suffering child. Second opinions were done of the scans by outside sources who confirmed there was activity, not notated.
Appointments continued with pain still not being relieved with worsening systems now hospitalization . With additional scans and notations of now lymph node activity skull base. MRI, PET Scans, Blood work etc were all done in attempt to uncover the root of her pain and formulate a treatment course. As of current, July 2025, Madison has since been hospitalized and had to undergo invasive biopsies through surgical means, to determine the exact diagnosis of her rare condition. Markers are indicative what we are all fearing, but we are still awaiting a final diagnosis once pathology comes back.
Though early assumed diagnosis' have been mentioned to Mom, we still do not know indefinitely the exact diagnosis, or what the treatment course will be. What we do know, regardless of final diagnosis, is that this is a very rare health condition.
Madison desperately needs to seek treatment in a more specialized health care facility, rather than staying locally in Orange County Children's Hospitals. She needs to be transferred to a health care facility that specializes in her exact condition, TBN definitely pending pathology, She will need to undergo surgery, and likely very extensive treatments. Seeking treatment elsewhere will increase all financial burdens for Chrissy and her family.
As any families who has experienced life altering health care conditions would know, there are so many costs associated with the diagnosis process, required procedures, and various other medical treatments. Aside from travel, copays, food, hotels, housing, and normal life expenses. This moment in her life is not only a nightmare, but it's overwhelming as a parent can imagine. The last thing she should have to worry about is providing a roof over her children's heads, or putting food in their mouths. Her focus should be on advocating for her sweet girl and getting her all necessary medical treatments that will heal her child.
We, her friends and loved ones, as that not only keep her this beautiful family in your prayers, but that if you so find it in your heart to do so, that you help us bless this ever so deserving human. Thank you so much!
UPDATE 7/22:
Madison saw Neurology for Pain Management for the Occipital Neuralgia. New medication’s were prescribed for temporary usage. As the ones that she was on previously cannot be maintained due to short-term risk of long-term side effects. It was disclosed to Chrissy and Madison that they did see the biopsy results and it gives them more questions without answers.
This hasn’t been shared yet from Oncology just Neurology. This was extremely frustrating and upsetting for Madison as she hoping they would have found answers. We came to find out. They did not pull any tissue from the areas of concern, but only the lymph nodes. They are not comfortable at this time touching the Mass.
After the Neurologist told Chrissy do not advocating for your daughter she knew they couldn’t help her. Chrissy will be transferring full care out of CHOC due to their lack of transparency and knowledge of what is happening with her daughter.
UPDATE 8/06
Madison will undergo surgery tomorrow in San Diego. The surgical team will be taking biopsies from the masses in her skull. Her specialists are also concerned with the cranium stretching that is causing seemas. Those biopsies will be sent to pathology. Our prayers, are that we will have more definitive answers soon and a treatment course will be decided on.
We ask for prayer for our sweet girl and her mama! Tomorrow will be yet another difficult step in this unbelievably difficult journey. Thank you!
UPDATE 8/7/25
Update on Madison's surgery today: They removed a part of her cranium filled it with a bone paste took out a quarter size bone of the larger mass that had an area protruding. Removed the tissue from that area.
The secondary soft tissue mass they removed part of it this was a different texture and is secondary in nature ( not sure what that means ) and put bone paste there too. They said it should release some of the pressure from the cranium stretching due to the mass. We are waiting for pathology to come back, while Madison recovers from her surgery!
We thank you for your continued prayers! Chrissy and the entire family are so grateful for your support!
