Help Chrissie Torres Fight Cancer and Heal After Transplant

Our friend Chrissie has already shown more strength and resilience than most of us can imagine. Four and a half years ago, she was diagnosed with Primary Myelofibrosis, a rare and chronic blood cancer that she has been managing with incredible courage and grace.

Recently, Chrissie received devastating news: she has now also been diagnosed with Lymphoma, a second, aggressive cancer that requires immediate and intensive treatment.

This past week, Chrissie began a 4-week round of induction chemotherapy. After a short recovery, she will undergo a stem cell transplant — a critical part of her treatment that will require her to be away from her home and family for 3 to 4 months. While she fights for her health, she’ll be separated from the people she loves most: her husband Steve, and their four wonderful children — Joey, Addison, Kylie, and Isaac.

Even after she returns home, the road ahead remains long and fragile. The first year following transplant is critical, involving frequent hospital visits, ongoing treatments, and close monitoring to ensure the transplant is successful and to manage complications. Chrissie will be unable to return to work or normal life for many months and will require extensive support throughout.

As you can imagine, this is a heartbreaking and overwhelming time for their family. The emotional, physical, and financial toll is immense.

We are raising funds to support Chrissie and her family by helping cover:

• Medical expenses and out-of-pocket costs not covered by insurance

• Travel and housing expenses related to her transplant

• Lost income while Chrissie is in treatment and recovery

• Day-to-day support for Steve and the kids while Chrissie is away
