My name is Chris, and I’m reaching out to my community during a challenging time. Last June, I woke up unable to breathe. Since then, I’ve been experiencing aortic regurgitation—fluid is pumping from my body into my heart’s right ventricle. Because my valve doesn’t close properly, excess fluid is being pumped into my lungs, making it hard to breathe and causing my heart to work overtime. I’ve been tired all the time and have had difficulty working, and my doctors have told me I’ll need open heart surgery and at least three months to recover before I can return to work. As someone who’s always been active and independent, it’s difficult to ask for help, but I know I can’t do this alone. The thought of being unable to provide for my family and cover basic living expenses while I heal is overwhelming.
I’ve dedicated my life to serving others—first in the military, including as a military police officer, and now as a chef at a local Woodstock restaurant. I’m also a proud father and dog owner, and I’ve truly fallen in love with this community. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours volunteering at The Bridgewater Grange and helping friends and neighbors with whatever they need, whether it’s shoveling out cars after a storm or bringing over a hot meal.
Now, I’m hoping for a little help in return. The funds raised will go directly toward my bills, living expenses, and health care costs while I recover. Hopefully after my surgery, I’ll be able to return to work and have a better quality of life! Any support you can offer—no matter how small—will make a huge difference for me and my family. Thank you for considering a donation and for being part of the community I cherish so much.
