My name is Chris, and I am reaching out during a really challenging time in my life.

Recently, while leaving work for lunch, I hit a deer on my bike and broke my leg: tibia and fibula open compound fracture.

This accident has turned my world upside down, especially as I work hard to stay on the path of recovery. I am committed to staying in sober living for at least a year, provided by Warriors Heart, here in Bandera, TX.

I tried to commit suicide in June 2025 because of my alcohol addiction, and have been through the residential program and am now trying to redesign life with accountability, mentorship, and brotherhood. I am trying to fix my past financial mistakes from active addiction, alongside rebuilding a new life from scratch.

This year is here to teach me something, and I am fighting like hell. I just got knocked back a few more pages by this tragedy.

Because of the accident, I am now facing having zero transportation, and have lost my ability to work for the time being. On top of that, getting around has become a real challenge.

I am just grateful and humbled at the same time. Life is in a phase where I can not pour out, I need to be poured into. Any support you can offer—whether it is a donation or simply sharing my story—would mean the world to me.
