Last Saturday evening, I took Chris to the emergency room, as he has a history of heart problems and was having chest pains and problems breathing. The doctors released him that evening, stating that he was experiencing an asthmatic exacerbation.
Unfortunately, he did not improve and returned to the emergency room on Tuesday. It was discovered that he had been having a Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction, essentially a heart attack, since Saturday, and it was not due to asthma. He was airlifted to a St. Cloud where doctors found that one artery was 100% blocked, another was 60% blocked, a third was 90% blocked, and his "widow maker" was 80% blocked. He is now needing open-heart surgery for a quadruple bypass.
We are not ones to ask for help, but we are in dire need of assistance from anyone who is able to. Chris has not been able to work for several months due to his heart issues, and my retail job (without insurance) is the only thing barely keeping a roof over our heads. These unexpected medical expenses will negatively affect our quality of life, and most importantly, his recovery.
Thank you in advance for your support, and we will keep you updated on the surgery date and the progress of his recovery
