Support Medical Journey

Donation protected
My name is Brittni, I am the sister in law to Chris and Tricia Coffey. July 2024 an accident with Chris has left both Chris and Tricia unable to work their full time jobs for the unforeseen future. While there have been setbacks this family is still admirably optimistic. With recurrent surgeries, doctor visits and travel expenses I am reaching out and asking for any help from a prayer, share or donation. This family has a long history of helping their community from volunteering to supporting local children’s sports. Any assistance would go directly to Tricia and Chris for anything medical related and household bills if necessary as they are currently battling disability insurance and still have three children at home. Thank you! -Brittni

Message from family!!!
In July Chris had an accident on a four wheeler resulting in crushed leg and bone sticking out of skin. In simple terms a complicated compound fracture. With this type of injury he was required a medical transfer to upstate medical center from cph ER. He had gone through 2 emergency surgeries in an attempt to save his leg. After two weeks of he was able to return home for the first time with many challenges, no weight bare, daily dressing changes and assistance with all daily living activities. This is why I (Tricia) am unable to work my full time job. He has had multiple doctor visits. Since October 29th he has had two more surgeries as we got the news he had to have a skin flap and skin graft as a last attempt to save his leg. The first attempt at the flap and graft was unsuccessful and another final surgery to save his leg occurred a few days later. Complications arose from surgeons realizing Chris had a rare vascular condition that was never diagnosed and was found during surgery. This final surgery consisted of taking muscle from his abdomen for the flap. He is not in the clear and will not be for an unforeseen time. We are currently continuing the same routine as before with daily dressing changes, assistance with all daily living activities but now one to two doctor visits weekly to Syracuse to check for infection and patent blood flow to the flap. We have tried to manage this mental, emotional and financial journey with close friends and family. We are now sharing our story with others as we continue to navigate this journey while also battling disability insurance. The kids have been home and managing well with close friends and family. It has been difficult for them to see the “ fun dad, sports dad and I can do it by myself guy” down and out but have been strong every step of the way. We appreciate the prayers, donations and shares we promise to remain optimistic and continuing being a strong family unit. Thank you from my family for all the love.
