Support Chris's Journey to Teach in NY

Hello!

My name is Chris, I am from Dallas, TX and this past year, I taught math and science to 3rd grade! I was given the wonderful opportunity to expand my career while getting to continue what I love, which is teaching!! This opportunity provides me with a position teaching at a new school opening this upcoming school year in The Bronx, NY. While teaching, I will be participating in the master’s program offered by the school, which will allow me to obtain my master’s degree in general and special education. This is the opportunity of a lifetime! It has always been my dream to help shape the future and teaching gives us that power. This last year showed me how much teaching means to me and I couldn’t imagine a better opportunity than this one. That being said, a move from Texas to New York is no easy feat. I am asking for your help in pursuing my dreams! As it stands, by the time I start working at this new school in The Bronx, there will still be at least 3 months on my current lease. While my partner will still be in Texas for that remaining time, paying rent in two places, not to mention bills, groceries, and the other expenses of life are proving to already be a hinderance.
