Hey! My name is Chris Hyppolite, and I’m 26.
Thanks for stopping by seriously. Even if you can’t give, just knowing my story is enough.
Bold question: Are you opposed to being a difference-maker?
On May 18, I had a stroke. Crazy, right?
I woke up that morning, making bagels… and ended the day in the ICU alone, with a brain bleed and a mass found. My life flipped whether I or anyone else fully understood it.
I was discharged four days later and sent home to recover with the support I had. I was on a great but limited journey to recovery. I even took my first steps without the help of my walker, showered by myself, and tried hard to “get back to normal.” I didn’t want to worry people, so I kept it private and only told a few.
But on June 1, I was back in the ER.
More symptoms. More setbacks. More loss.
I mourned.
I lost progress.
I lost mobility.
I lost my job.
I lost my ability to play music.
I lost the “regular” life I had been building.
I couldn’t support my family. I could barely stand.
And honestly, I couldn’t even process what had just become my reality.
But somehow, I never lost my smile.
When doctors recommended inpatient rehab—for cognitive, sensory, motor, and psych therapy—I knew I had to pivot. Fast.
I had to relearn how to walk, stand, shower, plan, talk, think, pee, and even pray.
I spent weeks in the hospital.
I was exhausted, poked, and questioned—but also loved and supported.
Family and friends visited. The staff showed me real care.
And I kept having to explain what happened, even as I was still trying to understand it myself.
But in that space, God met me.
He didn’t just help me recover physically—He gave me a new vision for my life.
I’m not who I was. And honestly? That might be the whole point.
Now that I’m out of rehab, I’m starting over.
Thank you to everyone who’s prayed, supported, or checked in—there’s already a testimony:
I walked out of rehab debt-free! I still have personal debt.
Now for the fun stuff.
I’m rebuilding a life that has space for recovery, creativity, and purpose alongside my family and friends. I want to live again—just differently. I want to create things with intention—healing myself and hopefully others, too.
Minor setback for a major…
You know the rest.
I’ve made it this far with the support I had. Imagine how far I could go with a little more of your support!
Let’s close the loop.
Bold question: Are you opposed to being a difference-maker?
Because anything helps.
