Chris Vann just spent his 52nd birthday in a hospital bed facing a reality no one saw coming.

What was supposed to be a routine procedure to “rotorooter” blocked veins and arteries quickly turned into something far more serious. Doctors discovered that Chris urgently needs an LVAD surgery — a life-supporting heart pump — while he waits for an eventual heart transplant.

Right now, Chris and his family are navigating fear, uncertainty, and the overwhelming financial burden that comes with a medical crisis of this magnitude.

Chris has spent his entire life working hard, riding dirt bikes, and helping anyone who needed it. If you know Chris, you know he’s the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. He has always shown up for others — and now he needs people to show up for him.

Doctors are still working to find the right facility to perform both surgeries, but they already know treatment will likely require travel out of state to either Arizona or Colorado. This means his wife, Shawna, will need to take significant time away from work to stay by his side during surgeries, recovery, and transplant care. With Chris unable to work for an unknown amount of time and Shawna likely facing little to no income while caring for him, the financial strain is becoming overwhelming.
