Support Chris's Fight for Health and Stability

I don't even know where to begin or how to begin honestly. Chris is the love of my life. To know him is to truly love him, and everyone that knows him does. Chris is not the type of guy that puts out his business because he does not want to burden anyone. He is the type of person that worries about everyone else before he worries about himself.

To give you some backstory, Chris was diagnosed with Stage 5 end-stage renal failure in 2016. He has quietly fought through learning how to navigate having hemodialysis and all that entails, and the limitations to being able to have peritoneal dialysis (PD) at home nightly, which gave him way more freedoms. Throughout the years, he has gotten infections in his catheter (this leads directly into his stomach) that he has had to fight. He has had cancer in both kidneys and ended up having them both removed, so he is completely dependent on dialysis now. He got a leg wound on his left leg that they diagnosed as pyoderma that took months to heal, but finally did. He developed A-fib because when you don't have your kidneys (they produce hormones even when not working), they mess with other organs. Honestly, there's more, but there has been so much since 2016 that after a while it just becomes a blur. Remembering which hospital stay was what and what happened during what year becomes fuzzy after a while.

Chris is a fighter though, and when he doesn't have it in him, I have a very loud mouth to advocate for him. He also does have a support system that truly loves him. We have a 14-year-old daughter together, and they are truly best friends.

Currently, Chris is in the ICU and life is going to change even more for him yet again. He has been fighting another leg wound (this time on his other leg) and we ended up going into the hospital. We were there for 16 days with no true answers, but on the 16th day, we were discharged and sent home for me to continue to do the wound care with the promise of home PT, home OT, and home nursing. When we went into the hospital, he was walking; at that point, it was very painful, but he was. When we left, he was not. We never received any services, not even phone calls to set up the services we were promised. We were just told we had to pay to get him home because his insurance did not cover transportation, and he can no longer get in a regular vehicle.

One week later, we ended up back in the hospital (a different one). Within 4 days of being in this hospital, he is now in ICU. His wound has taken a back burner to other complications that have come up with Chris, and life has become very scary currently. Our daughter cannot see him while he is in ICU, which has hurt both of them mentally and emotionally. When Chris comes out of this, he will need help. He self-pays for his medications. He self-pays for transportation. He currently cannot walk. He will have to pay for his insurance (we were in the process of trying to find a different affordable insurance for him to help with prescriptions). If you know Chris, then you know he is a VERY independent, VERY stubborn person. For him to be dependent on anyone for help, especially financially, is not okay with him.

Like I said before, when he can't fight for himself, I will fight for him. I am trying to help take some stress off of him right now because I know he is beyond worried about finances, especially because of our daughter. I know everyone is suffering financially currently these days with what is going on in our world, and it pains me to even ask for money. I just want Chris to be okay.
