Support Chris's Fight Against Burkitt Lymphoma

If you know my brother-in-law Chris, you know he's got a big heart and puts his family above all else. He's not one to ask for help because he's always the guy that offers to help you.

But Chris and my sister's family could use your help. Recently, Chris was diagnosed with Stage 4 Burkitt Lymphoma - a rare, aggressive and fast-growing cancer. Unfortunately, it started in his bone marrow and is spreading to his lymphatic system and he needs immediate treatment.

This summer will be tough for Chris and his family - starting this week, he will begin treatment at Mass General Hospital. My sister Brenna, will take care of their three kids (and pup Maui) while working her full-time job and managing the situation in general.

Nobody likes to think or talk about finances, but I'll do it on their behalf. Even with health insurance - out of pocket expenses for the treatment can typically be about $10K. With travel to and from the hospital (a 30-mile drive into the city), there will be travel and child-care expenses too. And, of course, food for three growing children.

If you don't know Chris, he's always giving - helping friends with business ideas, coaching in the gym and volunteering at work. And he's an amazing dad - dance classes with Victoria, videogames with the boys and random late night store-runs for my sister. I'm hoping to give back to him now.

He's also a fighter - when treatment is complete he'll be coming home around Halloween cancer free.
