Support Chris's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
It all started with a visit to the ER after Christmas, where Chris was experiencing stomach pain. While there, he found out that he had a large mass in one of his kidneys and that it was likely cancer. He had a biopsy, and it was indeed diagnosed as kidney cancer. Chris was admitted to St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, MD, and soon underwent surgery to remove his left kidney on Monday, January 6th, 2025. While in the hospital recovering, he was also told that his kidney cancer was stage 4 and that they also found a spot on his lung that could indicate lung cancer.

Chris was released from the hospital on Saturday, January 11th, and has been recovering at home with the support of family and friends. He sees his oncologist soon, and together they will formulate a plan of attack on this vicious cancer. Chris will also get a PET scan to further inspect the spot on his lung.

In Chris's own words:
Hello everyone! My name is Christopher Wilson. Some may know me as Chris, Chris the carrot or Smoove Rozay. As of recently, I found out I have stage 4 cancer. My left kidney had to be removed to clear majority of the cancer, but some has spread into my lungs around my heart. As I look to heal and grow from this situation, unfortunately bills do not slow down, and responsibilities do not show sympathy. My oncologist recommended that I do not work for up to 6 weeks. As bad as I would like to go back to work, I must listen for the sake of my health.

Chris is an amazing dad, a dependable and compassionate friend, and a valued 10+ year veteran colleague at his workplace. He is a die-hard Baltimore Ravens fan, loves making music and beats, knows the best places for a good cheesesteak sub, and enjoys playing basketball and Pokémon Go with his son, among so many other things.

He has insurance, but as we all know, this journey is going to be more than most of us can financially bear, insurance or not. An ER visit, kidney biopsy, 2 weeks in the hospital, kidney removal surgery, PET scan, doctor visits, and who knows what else is in store. Chris also needs reliable transportation for all of these doctor visits, and his car is in need of some serious repairs.

This is where you come in. If you can donate anything, any amount, it would be so deeply appreciated and helpful to him as he navigates this journey. Thank you!
