Support Chris-Ann's Hip Replacement Journey

Hi, my name is Chris-Ann Ward and I have Sickle Cell SS disease. Sickle Cell is one of the top deadly diseases that kills millions of Black people each year. This disease is also known as cancer's sister because of how similar they are. I was officially diagnosed with Sickle Cell from the day I was born and have been suffering from it since I was 6 months old. Sickle Cell makes your red blood cells deform instead of shaping like a circle or oval like a normal person. Because of this, we go through painful crises whenever our deformed blood cells try to go through our joints. The pain we feel is so bad that whenever we are in a painful crisis, we have to seek medical emergency as fast as possible, or else we will die. Sickle Cell also damages a lot of our bones and organs. A lot of Sickle Cell patients are given until age 16-18 to live; however, I am 24 years old. For the past 4 years, Sickle Cell has been damaging my body. I have currently done 9 surgeries over this timeline and am seeking help to do another as soon as possible. Sickle Cell has damaged my hips, and despite my young age, I currently need to do an urgent total hip replacement surgery. Without this surgery, I will lose my ability to walk, and at this urgent state, I am unable to walk or stand. I pass out from pain often. Having Sickle Cell has made me a strong and determined fighter because if not, I would not be alive today. I am so determined to not let Sickle Cell rule me and destroy my life. All these years, I have fought and accomplished so much and even graduated from college as a phlebotomist and a dental assistant. I HAVE SICKLE CELL, NOT SICKLE CELL HAVE ME. So I am asking you please to help me fight, please help me beat this disease. I am currently out of time because my left hip has now collapsed, which makes the hip replacement surgery an emergency, yet the hospitals won't do the surgery unless I am able to buy the implants that are to be put in my hip. I am in excruciating pain for the past couple of days where I haven't been eating or drinking. Pain medication isn't helping anymore. Whenever I go to the hospital, the doctors keep turning me back, explaining they can't do anything for me despite me screaming in pain. They would keep saying that all I need is surgery. As I am writing this, I currently haven't been able to move positions in bed without terrifying screams. Even though I hate it, the hospital has become my second home because of my illness. I have done college exams, CXC, and tests right there in my hospital bed. I have celebrated birthdays, Christmas, and New Year's in hospital beds. Please, I am begging you to help me fight this disease because I cannot do it alone. Please help me get this total of 1.5 million JMD and 10,000 USD for the hip replacement surgery, put me out of my pain and torture because that's what it feels like to be in this much pain 24 hours.
