Two weeks ago, the unthinkable happened. Holly had her car packed to move across the country—someone smashed her car window and stole a bag of precious items. She had her dog Tia's ashes, ceramic paw prints, and a memorial stuffed animal in her car. Her husband Brandon posted to Reddit and even got the story on the local news.

It spread far and wide, but still no word on finding Tia. I saw the post and offered to create posters and tape them up in the area the items went missing, since Brandon and Holly are both now out of state.

Ten days later, Brandon got the sweetest text from a man named Chris, who found Tia's memorial items! Chris, it turns out, has been homeless for seven years, and was searching a dumpster for discarded items to resell. He found the bag with Tia's items and held onto them because he knew someone would be missing them. A few days later, he was lucky enough to see one of the posters and get in contact with Brandon to get Tia home. When we met up so I could pick up the items to ship to Holly, he was just the kindest person!

He didn't even want a reward, but we think he deserves the same level of support he showed a fellow dog lover in keeping Tia's items safe and getting her home safely. Just this past Friday, Chris reached a huge milestone: he moved into his very first apartment. This is a life-changing moment for him, but starting over comes with a lot of expenses. Chris needs help covering rent, getting basic furniture, and buying essentials to make his new place feel like home. He’s also caring for Reo, a dog he rescued from the street, and support will help provide for his furry friend as well.
