Chris is a devoted friend and husband who has faced unimaginable challenges since a life-changing accident in college. After moving from Germany to the United States for school, Chris suffered a spinal cord injury when he hit his head on the bottom of a pool, breaking his neck at the C5 and C6 levels. Since then, he has lived as a quadriplegic, relying on his wife for daily care and support. Despite his physical limitations, Chris has shown incredible determination—teaching himself to use a computer without finger function, working 40-50 hours a week, and doing everything he can to provide for his family.
The financial burden of rent, medical bills, surgeries, and daily care is overwhelming. Chris and his wife face constant stress about making ends meet, and the lack of citizenship has prevented him from accessing the government assistance he deserves. The fear of homelessness is very real for them, and it weighs heavily on Chris’s mental health. As his close friend, I see how much he worries about the future and how much he just wants a chance to live a happy, stable life.
What makes Chris truly special is his heart for others. Even while working long hours and managing his own challenges, he volunteers and supports other quadriplegics, making sure no one feels alone. He’s the first to check in on friends, always ready with a joke or a kind word, and he spreads positivity wherever he goes. Chris is resilient, empathetic, and passionate—he deserves the chance to keep fighting for a better life. Your support will help cover rent and medical expenses, giving Chris and his wife the stability they need to move forward and focus on healing.
