Chris Nicholson, our brother, is facing a difficult and uncertain road after being diagnosed with stomach cancer. Right now, Chris and the family are still waiting for more answers, and they expect to know more on October 5th. At this point, the next steps may include chemotherapy, surgery, and more chemotherapy, and there is a real possibility that Chris may need to have his stomach removed. As they prepare for what is ahead, the uncertainty around treatment, recovery, and daily life has been overwhelming.
For more than 30 years, Chris has been a referee, working 6 to 7 days a week and giving his time to help kids. Anyone who knows Chris knows he has always been one of the first people to step up when someone else needs support. Now, during treatment, Chris will likely be unable to referee, which means losing that income at a time when he may also need time away from his job with the school district in Janesville. Donations will help with medical costs, transportation, and time off work, easing some of the pressure so Chris can focus on treatment and healing.
We are asking the community to come together for Chris now, just as Chris has done for so many others over the years. If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Every bit of support will help Chris and the family feel less alone as they face the challenges ahead. Thank you for keeping Chris in your thoughts and prayers and for surrounding Chris with love, strength, and encouragement.
