My name is Sean Buckley, and I am a family friend of Chris and Nicole Meekins. I am helping organize this fundraiser on behalf of their family after Chris suffered a sudden and life-altering stroke while traveling for work in Dallas, Texas.

Chris experienced a left vertebral artery dissection that resulted in a left medullary stroke. Thanks to rapid medical care, he is now stable and has begun intensive inpatient rehabilitation. He is already showing meaningful signs of progress, but recovery from this type of stroke is measured in months, not weeks, and will require sustained therapy, support, and presence.

Nicole has temporarily relocated to Dallas to be at Chris’s side every day—serving as his advocate, caregiver, and constant encouragement. Meanwhile, their daughter Maren remains in Los Angeles, supported by family and friends as she continues school and daily life. This has created the difficult reality of their family being split between two cities during a critical time.

This fund is intended to help ease the very real logistical and financial burdens this sudden medical event has created, including extended housing in Dallas, ongoing travel between Dallas and Los Angeles, rehabilitation and therapy needs, and the income disruption that naturally follows a medical crisis like this.

Anyone who knows Chris and Nicole knows their strength, generosity, and faith. They are walking this road with courage and hope, and our goal is simply to surround them with practical support so Nicole can focus fully on Chris’s recovery and their family’s well-being.
