Support Chris Grady's Family After Loss

Donation protected
Chris Grady passed away in his sleep on November 27, 2024.

Chris was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma in early 2024 and had surgery to remove it on November 21, 2024. He unfortunately passed away from complications.

Chris and I met in 2005. The moment I saw him, I thought, “I’m going to marry him.” I knew I had met my soulmate. We got engaged on Christmas Day 2011 and were married on September 15, 2012. Our son, Jonah, was born 2 years later, and our daughter, Ada, a year after that.

Chris was an amazing man. Our kids loved spending time with him, and he was always a wholehearted supporter of their hobbies. He would stop whatever he was doing to watch Ada practice her cheer routine, listen to her stories, or help with her crafts. He loved playing with Hot Wheels cars with Jonah, helping him get the perfect spiral when throwing a football, and playing Call of Duty together.

Chris is everywhere in my life. I had a meltdown when I was folding laundry because I realized I’ll never do his laundry again. I cried while picking up in the garage because how am I supposed to take the kids camping by myself? It’s the small, silly things that won’t stop hurting.

Chris was healthy, and at 41, we thought we had decades left together. I cannot understate how devastated I am. I was not prepared to be without him. He was the anchor, our rock, the one we could all turn to for help.

Chris was also a musician. Our home is filled with instruments. On Sunday mornings, you could hear him playing with his band in our basement. He loved drumming and loved his band. He was teaching himself to play the piano and acoustic guitar.

Chris loved reading, the Indianapolis Colts, ice cream, and being with his family. He loved having Sunday lunch with his parents.

I am heartbroken for his parents. They have lost their youngest son, but I am so thankful they were able to see him shortly before he passed.

My family is broken, and the void where Chris should be is massive.

A visitation will be held at Hampton Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield Indiana on December 6th 4-6pm, a memorial service will follow.

Any donation is appreciated and will be used to support our children.
