Hi, my name is Steve and I'm raising money for my friend, Chris Gibson, most of you know him as "Gibby." In late February, he rolled his ankle and saw an orthopedic specialist. Early March, unable to walk, he was hospitalized. Due to diabetic complications, sepsis set in. He was in the ICU on life support for over 2 weeks, and has had five surgeries. Those included a below the knee amputation. Several months of rehabilitation will follow and it's unlikely that he'll be a able to return to his 30 year bartending career. As of early April, insurance claims have exceeded $1.6 million with several more weeks of hospitalization to go. While he does have health insurance, out of pocket costs are mounting. He's in good spirits, but it is a stressful time.
