Support Chris Foy in his hour of need!! ❤️❤️

Donation protected
We are hoping to raise a substantial amount of money to support one of our own in his hour of need, and we simply need your support to make it happen!

Chris Foy was involved in a large Dust explosion at a Chemical Factory that
he was working in, carrying out routine maintenance. The ignition blew up in Chris’s face setting him on fire, and blew him into the air and down a set of metal stairs shattering his leg. Chris landed on the ground, still on fire all over his head/ face and arms, which he had to put out himself with his own hands, as he was alone in the area screaming in agony.

His Tibia and Fibula were shattered and sticking out of his leg in 3 areas, he also suffered severe burns all over his head/ face and hands and suffered serious nerve damage. He was rushed to Manchester Royal ICU, where they performed a 10 hour operation to repair his leg and tend to his burns. Following this, Chris was put on a ventilator for 2 weeks to allow his body the best chance of surviving and to recover as best as it could.

As a family, those two weeks were hard to watch. A few days after the operation, Chris was moved to Wythenshawe Hospital ICU. Around a week after the accident, Chris had a further operation, to skin graft both of his hands as they were so badly damaged (the skin just fell off). This operation thankfully went as well as it could. Around 2 weeks after the accident, Chris was finally able to come off the ventilator after several failed attempts to wake him on the previous few days. He then had around 10 days of intensive physio to help him to learn to walk again, and be able to do some day to day things again.

After around 4 weeks, Chris could finally come home to be with his family and help his recovery process. He will have a cage on his leg until February, the burns and nerve damage on his hands still needs time to try to recover, which could take a long time but thankfully his head/ face is really recovering well. He is obviously unable to work for a good 6 months minimum and with him being self employed, the place he was working hasn’t paid him another penny since the accident.

Despite everything he’s trying to be very positive and looking forward to a healthy future with all his family and friends around him! Please, if you can spare even just a couple of pounds, it will go a long way to easing the financial pressure at this difficult time!

Thank you in advance for your donations! It means a lot to Chris, his family and friends!! ❤️
